A Strong Foundation

A Strong Foundation

Instead of carpet or tiles, the Evergreen Media office in downtown Rapid City has concrete floors. They are the original floors for the building and have remained for over 30 years. Before the floors supported the Evergreen team, they were used in the Dean Motor Company – with cars scraping across the resilient concrete.

Profile of a Chalk Artist

Profile of a Chalk Artist

Anyone who’s ever been to an Evergreen Media party is wowed by the amazing chalk art that is drawn on the large chalkboard adjacent to the reception desk. For this year’s Summer KickOff Party, the beloved chalkboard had the party name and a realistic fork and hot dog.

This chalk art is the work of Evergreen’s resident Van Gogh, Chris Valencia. He is the Senior Designer, which he jokingly describes as “just doing what John (Evergreen’s Creative Director) tells me to do.” As the designer, he does ads, layout design, and everything in between.

2017 Summer KickOff

2017 Summer KickOff

The Evergreen Media team lives by the saying “work hard, play hard”, as was evident at Evergreen’s 2017 Summer Kick Off Barbecue on Tuesday, June 20.

After the day’s work winded down at 5 p.m., employees’ families, friends, and clients all descended upon our modern downtown offices for some grillin’ and chillin’. Attendees were treated to grilled cooking, cold brews from our “beer-barrow”, games, and great conversation. Lawn chairs were arranged on our building’s patio area as guests ate, drank, and laughed. Partygoers played frisbee on the side of 4th Street and corn hole was popular near the side offices. Evergreen’s designer, Chris, drew some of his infamous chalk art to welcome attendees.

Are We There Yet?!

Are We There Yet?!

A Renovation Timeline :: Part 5 :: October 2016

Our Downtown HQ is a marriage of old and new: Freshly painted walls meet scored concrete flooring; our open kitchen features pale blonde cabinetry just a few steps away from the reception area, backed by the age and character of a wall fashioned from reclaimed wood planks from the original building as it was years ago. The conference room is an eclectic combination of new and reclaimed wood, reinforced polycarbonate panels (say that five times fast!) and a vintage railroad shipping container – the perfect staging area for brainstorming sessions or the occasional karaoke performance, depending on the mood. Exposed brick reaches upward to a lofty open ceiling showcasing both original materials and shiny stainless pipes and joists, depending on where you look.
