When it comes to productivity, everybody’s got their favorite app. Some date as far back as the MySpace era, while others have only been around a few months. We wanted to share some of the apps we love – and can’t live without!

As these pups will tell you, publishing is a dog-eat-dog business. These canines have weaved through deadlines and have climbed the ladder to secure coveted positions here at Evergreen Media!
Since the early 1900’s, the American Advertising Federation (AAF) has been unifying the voice of advertising and connecting professionals across the nation.
In 2016, Evergreen Media entered into our local chapter’s American Advertising Awards — one of the industry’s largest creative competitions, attracting nearly 35,000 professional and student entries each year across the country. We walked away with a Silver for an external client project and knew we would be back.
This year, we are honored to announce Evergreen Media has won both a Gold and Silver ADDY for two client projects we’ve had the opportunity working on this past year.
Entries that receive the coveted Gold ADDY for being recognized as the highest level of creative excellence are automatically forwarded onto the next tier of the competition. Follow along on Facebook as we hear more details!
In order to graduate from the Graphic Design program at Black Hills State University, I am required to have an internship of 150 hours, and each hour needs to be logged, notes need to be taken, and examples of my work need to be provided. I was on the hunt for an internship when Rick had brought it to my attention Evergreen Media hires interns.
Although that was the first encounter I had with Rick the Owner and Publisher of Evergreen Media, I knew Rick the Dedicated Coach long before that. I grew up living in the world of softball, and spent many weekends watching and learning from Rick, as he coached my sister. Since my time here at Evergreen I have realized Rick the Dedicated Coach, and Rick the Owner and Publisher of Evergreen Media, aren’t that much different. He took a chance with me – just as he did with the many girls he has coached over the years.
As tourism and wedding season are in full swing, businesses across the Black Hills see more than their fair share of traffic through their doors. We are friendly to those who are shopping with us, but oftentimes, we forget that the people selling to us are people, too. Here are 8 reasons why you should be nice to everyone – even your sales people.
John Edwards’ kids only learned how to ride bikes after moving to the Black Hills. Back in his hometown of London, England, too many buses flew by on the busy and dangerous roads. John and his family decided moved to South Dakota from across the pond, and he is now the advertisement wizard at Evergreen Media.
With every publication, business deal, or party, Evergreen Media always slides to homebase, so it makes sense that our doors slide instead of hanging on hinges. Glance around the Evergreen office and you’ll see a lack of doors—and the doors we do have are hung from above to slide open.
We appreciate the old-school era at Evergreen Media. Have you stopped into our offices? Chalk boards adorn the original brick wall to the left of our front desk. Before smartboards and apple TVs, before whiteboards and computers… there were chalkboards for announcements, for tools, and for teaching—ultimately, communication.
One of the most interesting aspects of the Evergreen Media offices here in downtown Rapid City is the huge shipping container turned meeting room. This container used to bring goods across the ocean, but now hosts meetings about photo spreads and our next magazine layout.
Following the modern architectural trend, Evergreen Media’s office in downtown Rapid City has visible rafters. These metallic beams give the office an industrial feeling that contrasts with the modern office furnishings. Our office is in the historic Dean Building, constructed in 1929 for a motor company. In 2016, the building laid empty so a group of locals decided to revitalize the building. It now houses not only Evergreen Media, but also a coffee shop, a baby boutique, and high-end apartments.
